I hope you had a nice summer and spent plenty of time with family and friends. After a very productive summer, we have officially begun the fall campaign season.
I am running for re-election as your State Senator in the Legislature. I want to thank you for the privilege to represent you in Lincoln. As a fifth generation Nebraskan and your neighbor in the District the last 15 years, I share your values and concerns.
This summer, over my lunch hour, I knocked on over 4,000 doors. This was not easy work, but it afforded me the opportunity to meet you and listen to your questions and concerns. I have learned a lot. To those with whom I spoke, thank you. To those of you I missed, I will be redoubling my efforts this fall, and I hope to speak with you soon.
I have fought hard to ensure all Nebraskans have a fair chance to prosper and succeed. Working with my colleagues in the Legislature, we lowered your taxes, reformed our juvenile justice system, worked to correct problems in our foster care and mental health systems, and improved funding and accountability in our public schools. The work goes on.
From listening to you, I believe the most important issues are:
- Keeping Our Neighborhoods Safe
- Making Sure All Kids Have A First Rate Quality Education
- Lowing Your Tax Burden, Especially Property Taxes
- Accessing Good Paying Jobs
Please feel free to stop in at the campaign headquarters, 6035 Binney Street in Benson.
Finally, I would appreciate your vote on November 4, 2014!
